Note From The Chairman
Nick HartHello and welcome to the website, I hope that all everyone involved with OPSA will find this both useful and informative.

Firstly I would like to thank:
The OPSA Board of Trustees, The Charities Commission, PCLAPA and of course all of our wonderful supporters and fundraiser's, who without your continued support and help we could not have successfully operated on over 200 children and young adults this year in Pakistan.

OPSA received some fantastic corporate support from Hull Trains , Classic Hospital Anlaby, British Airways, Britannia Appleyards Storage, Nuffield Hospital, and even the Newry Scouts to name but a few!

I do hope that we get the opportunity to thank you all personally at our Summer Ball in 2007; watch out for details in our future newsletters.
We hope this will give you details of how much we value your support. We would love to hear from anyone who has supported the charity to hear your fundraising stories.

Again a heartfelt big Thank you to all concerned benefactors.
Nick Hart
Chairman OPSA

Pakistan Trip 2006

Surgical TeamAgain the OPSA surgical team completed a successful trip to Gujarat in Pakistan.

Following what can only be described as a challenging year for the charity, our trustees and valued fundraiser's and supporters were able to raise enough funds to facilitate a successful surgical camp.

Although there were some tense moments not the least sharing Islamabad with George Bush, the whole trip went extremely successfully with the continued help of the Pakistan Cleft Lip and Palate association and the continued support of our community in the UK and the community of Pakistan.

OPSA Charitable Objectives

The purpose of the charity is to provide a specialist surgical team to undertake reconstructive surgical procedures on babies, young children, and in some cases young adults in third world countries, all of whom are impoverished and have no other recourse to treatment.

These procedures are predominantly cleft lip and palate conditions, hand deformities and burns contractures and the surgical intervention contributes massively in improving the quality of life and long-term functionality of these people.

The team visits annually depending on funds available, and of course the political climate at the time.
